Please bring to the next class a response to “Shitty First Drafts” by Anne Lamott. It’s in the reader (but these are both famous pieces, so if you had trouble getting the reader, this time you can find it easily online by Googling it and adding “PDF” to your search).

Please choose two quotes from this short essay; place those quotes on your response page, and underneath each write a response to Lamott’s ideas. How do your experiences as a writer and a student compare to Lamott’s attitudes towards writing?

Also, consider your new group your primary audience for discussing your response. What do you think it would be helpful to know about your sense of your own writing strengths and weaknesses?
