8/27 & 8/29: Introductions

Salvador Dali, Self-Portrait, 1921

Welcome to English 2100! This class will be focused on writing and rhetoric.

You’ll need to first review the syllabus for the course and the schedule for deadlines. Make sure you understand how this course will be setup, where and what resources are available for the class, and what is expected of you.

Each day has an agenda. Please make sure to review the daily agenda before you come to class.

The class is composed of three core assignments, which are essentially one large assignment broken into three parts. Each core assignment builds upon the previous one to produce an ever-expanding document.

Ultimately you’re going to produce one 3,750-word paper—but don’t sweat that part yet. We’ll break it down into little bits at a time (and it’s the same amount of writing you’d do if these were separate papers).

Additionally, you’ll produce short blog entires, which you’ll post on this course site, that respond to specific prompts. Notice that blog prompts are in a drop down menu on this website.

After you read the syllabus and review this website, your first task will be to complete an introductory survey about yourself. This will count as your first blog grade.
