Blog 7 : Hang to Dry

Dear Peer Review Group,

Its be a great semester working with you and I’m glad I will be seeing you guys next semester in our English class. I would like to thank you for being able to tell me the brutal truth when I made mistakes in my paper. You three never held back your thoughts and it really helped me bring my essay into one whole piece. You helped me realize that my essay was not just about my friend but it was also about me. With all your feedback I was able to add my story into the writing and make it much more personal. The sixty combined questions from all three of you were the most helpful during this process because within those questions some of them were the same and it opened my eyes to go and change those parts. You brought me three different views of how my writing can go and from that I am coming to finish a piece that combines all four of our thoughts.

As I come to the final week with my essay I really want to incorporate the research portion into my essay. You three have read and reread my paper multiple times and have suggested to place the research where it fits best to described my story. I would like to finish rereading my essay and fixing all the grammar and punctuation issues that you guys have shown to me. I also want to add all the details that Professor Graves has told me to add. From adding minor details that can help my essay flourish, to adding board details about tattoos and semicolons themselves. From the feedback from you three to the feedback from Professor graves I think I can really make this essay one whole instead of three separate parts.

While writing I have realized that it is something I truly love to do and I will continue writing. It has been a tough semester trying to write an essay on such a hard topic but it has brought out a side in me that I have to continue to explore. As this class comes to an end I really hope that my years to come in English classes bring me as much joy and an amazing group like you guys. I hope that you continue writing such wonderful pieces and write shitty first drafts and revise them, and rewrite shitty first drafts until you have work that resembles what you have written this semester. I am grateful to have been in your group and I hope your essays end up being even more amazing.

Sincerely,

Rita Sharon

  1. Dear Rita,

It was great working with you and your writing this semester. At first, I was really confused about your writing, but as you developed it, it became very clear and it became very unique. It was very enjoyable to read. Good Luck!

    Best,
    Harrison
