Dropbox now available to all CUNY students, faculty and staff
An announcment went out on August 22nd from University CIO Brian Cohen that the University has licensed Dropbox for all CUNY students, faculty and staff. Dropbox is a distributed, cloud-based file storage system that will greatly increase CUNY’s ability to share and use files wherever they are. Dropbox can be used from the web, desktops, and mobile devices.
Faculty and staff are receiving individual emails inviting them to claim their accounts with their CUNY Login. These emails are legitimate, but users should make sure that they are directed to dropbox.com and log in to the CUNY login page hosted at cuny.edu.
BCTC will be sharing more information on how to use Dropbox and provide training classes in the coming weeks on how to use Dropbox not only for file storage but sharing and collaboration.
