My first unit writing was a wonderful first experience writing a paper in college. I enjoyed the process every step of the way, especially how we wrote the assignment in pieces. Writing the assignment in pieces allowed us to make edits and revisions every step of the way, as well as, meeting with peers and the Professor to get more perspective. The meetings allowed for inputs from many different people of different backgrounds and intelligence which greatly helped improve and revise the writing. I especially loved how we could virtually write about anything and I loved to read the work of my peers. As I wrote about a children’s cartoon from the country my family originated from, there was a recurring theme of identity and holding on to certain roots and values, as the cartoon helped the whole community preserve its culture and values. The theme of comfort also held true, as the artifact helped me through tough times by providing comfort. Certain tropes within my cultural artifact could be the cliché rickety car the antagonist (the wolf) drives, eyes appearing through darkness, and the title of the show itself as it embodies the wolf’s catchphrase which means “just you wait” which has a greater meaning. I feel as though the whole artifact is metaphor for the daily life as it was in the Soviet Union or rather what the people wished it would be, full of differences, recreation, and fun. With my life, certain experiences which caused me stress and sorrow, such as the loss of my grandfather, led to watch the show again as an adult seeking comfort, which it brought me, but also let me analysis the show with an adult mind sitting on my shoulders.
how did the show influence your life?
how does this relate to ur personal community?
