Rio de Janeiro – The judicial system is closing in on Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Yesterday for the first time, the federal prosecutor investigating the multimillion dollar corruption case in Petrobras, formally accused the popular ex-president of Brazil (2003-2010), with being the principal leader of the graft scheme at the state oil company.

“Lula was the chief commander of the corruption scheme in Petrobras,” stated Deltan Dallagnol, lead prosecutor of Operation Car Wash, during a press conference in Curitiba, where the majority of investigations have taken place for more than 2 years that have shaken up the political and corporate worlds of Brazil.
