Aprobada por el Consejo de Seguridad en su 7814^a sesión, celebrada el 9 de diciembre de 2016

 El Consejo de Seguridad,

            Poniendo de relieve la necesidad de que las Naciones Unidas y la comunidad internacional apoyen la consolidación de la confianza mutua entre la República Popular Democrática de Corea y la República de Corea,

             Reiterando sus resoluciones anteriores, incluida la resolución 1927 (2010),

1. Denuncia el ataque contra el Cheonan, buque de guerra de la República de Corea, como una violación brutal de la Convención de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Derecho del Mar,

2. Autoriza una nueva inspección del incidente del Cheonan por el equipo internacional de expertos cuyo mandato es aclarar el asunto,

3. Reitera la exigencia subrayada en su resolución 1874 (2009) de que la República Popular Democrática de Corea vuelva a las Conversaciones de las Seis Partes de manera inmediata y sin condiciones previas,

4. Decide seguir ocupándose activamente de la cuestión.

Adopted by the Security Council at its 7815^th session, on 10 December 2016

The Security Council,

Reaffirming the need for a just peace, and the determination to preserve the sovereignty, political independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine,

Emphasizing that all Member States in their acceptance of the Charter of the United Nations have undertaken a commitment to act in accordance with the Charter,

1. Insists that adherence to the principles of the Charter requires that peace and respect for the territorial integrity of nations be established,
2. Urges Ukraine to authorize the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to hold a new referendum in an atmosphere of genuine peace and public stability so that the decision of the citizens of Crimea can have legal standing,
3. Decides to remain actively seized of the matter.

Introduction

Due to early diagnosis and advances in surgical and endovascular treatment, adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) is one of the fastest growing cardiology subgroups in recent years.  It is calculated that 85-90% of patients with congenital heart disease reach adulthood. The survival of these patients generates complications and sequelae that contribute to higher rates of hospitalization and new surgeries, among other procedures.

During its progression, an estimated 5 to 10% of patients with ACHD will develop pulmonary hypertension (PH), making it currently the most frequent cause of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) after connective tissue disease. The occurrence of PAH is related to a worse prognosis for the patient.

The objective of this study was to analyze the epidemiological characteristics and clinical and pharmacological treatment of patients with PAH and their impact on survival.

Lula enfrenta nuevos cargos de corrupción

SÃO PAULO, Brasil—El lunes la Fiscalía brasileña presentó nuevos cargos de corrupción en contra del ex mandatario brasileño Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, aumentando la presión sobre el y su familia en relación a sus negocios en Angola, país rico en petróleo, donde las empresas brasileñas se han dado a conocer agresivamente durante los últimos diez años.

Este nuevo cargo ha sido un golpe duro para Lula, de 70 años, quien ha sido uno de los políticos más influyentes de América Latina. En conexión con el escándalo de la petrolera estatal Petrobras, Lula ya enfrenta dos juicios separados, uno por cargos de obstrucción de justicia y el otro por beneficiarse ilegalmente de vínculos con la O.A.S., una empresa de construcción brasileña.

Abriendo una nueva frente legal en contra de Lula, presidente de Brasil del 2003 al 2010, la Fiscalía dice que ayudó el grupo constructor Odebrecht a obtener contratos lucrativos en Angola, los cuales beneficiaron a Taiguara Rodrigues, sobrino de la primera esposa de Lula.

New Charges Against Brazil’s Ex-President

SÃO PAULO—Brazilian prosecutors filed charges Monday against Brazil’s former president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and ten others, among them Marcelo Odebrecht, a businessman and former president of the giant Brazilian construction company Odebrecht. They were charged with five counts of corruption related to contracts for an infrastructure project in Angola.

The website of the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that on Monday criminal proceedings against these eleven individuals were initiated with Brazil’s Ministry of Justice active and passive corruption, money laundering, influence-peddling and conspiracy.

According to the information presented, the ex-president allegedly intervened between 2008 and 2015 to divert funds from the state-run Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) to an Odebrecht project in Angola that a company belonging to his nephew participated in. Prosecutors claim that about 30 million Brazilian reals or $9.3 million in inflation-adjusted dollars was channeled “in a covert manner.”

The two points that got past them were the least of Barcelona’s worries during the match against Atlético Madrid. When Messi clutched his groin with distress on his face, alarms sounded across the Camp Nou stadium as Culé fans shared the superstar’s pain. The game ended in a draw which, given the arsenal each team came armed with, might not come as a surprise.

Barcelona gave such a great lesson in how to play soccer during the first half that few saw what was coming next. The Blaugranas monopolized the ball, surrounding the Atléticos in their goal area and not leaving them room to breathe. Simeone’s team only caught their breath back in the locker room.

Barcelona’s recoveries all happened near the rival team’s goal area. Since the opponents weren’t crossing the division line, Piqué played as if he were a midfielder while right- and left-backs Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto posed a real threat. The home team were enjoying themselves, and Atlético didn’t know which way the wind was blowing.

El equipo de fútbol femenino de Estados Unidos se encontraba perdiendo al principio del partido amistoso contra Holanda la noche del domingo en el estadio Georgia Dome de Atlanta, pero las americanas recobraron su forma para llevarse la victoria de 3-1.

Haciendo honor a su reputación de nueva potencia europea, las holandesas tomaron rápidamente la delantera cuando Shanice Van de Sanden aprovechó una bola rechazada que llegó a la media cancha. Acelerando detrás de la última línea defensiva de Estados Unidos, venció a la portera Alyssa Naeher en un uno a uno desde 12 metros para conseguir el primer gol en el segundo minuto del partido.

Las de las barras y las estrellas se reagruparon y se reenfocaron, usando la presión incansable para crear oportunidades de gol. La intensidad rindió frutos cuando Tobin Heath esquivó una defensora hacia el lado derecho de la área penal e hizo un pase perfecto a Carli Lloyd, quien mandó para adentro la pelota para empatar el partido 1-1 al minuto 35. Fiscalía: Lula da Silva “comandante” de la corrupción

RIO DE JANEIRO—El miércoles, investigadores brasileños presentaron cargos en contra del expresidente de Brasil Inácio Lula da Silva por lavado de dinero y corrupción, llamándolo el “comandante máximo” del escándalo de corrupción que agita la nación más grande de América Latina.

Los cargos presentados en contra de Silva ya eran de esperarse, dado que la policía los había recomendado un mes atrás. Aún así fue sorprendente la caracterización de su papel en la red de corrupción y sobornos dentro de la empresa petrolera estatal Petrobras.

En los últimos dos años, la Operación Lava Jato ha dejado encarcelados a docenas de empresarios y destacados políticos. Silva, presidente de 2003 a 2010, fue implicado hace tiempo, pero antes del miércoles los fiscales nunca habían dicho que era más que un beneficiario.

 Brazil’s Lula “Top Boss” of Petrobras Corruption

RIO DE JANEIRO. Brazil’s judiciary is closing in on Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. For the first time yesterday, the federal prosecutors investigating the multimillion-dollar Petrobras corruption case formally charged the popular Brazilian ex-president (2003-2010) with being the principal leader of the graft scheme at the state oil company.

At a press conference in Curitiba, where the investigation that has shaken the Brazilian political and business world for more than two years is centered, Deltan Dallagnol, lead prosecutor of Operação Lava Jato, or Operation Car Wash, declared that “Lula was the top boss of the Petrobras corruption scheme.”

Encuesta: Clinton 10 puntos adelante de Trump a nivel nacional

Hillary Clinton tiene 10 puntos de ventaja sobre Trump, según una encuesta nacional de la Universidad de Quinnipiac que salió el jueves.

La encuesta encontró a la nominada demócrata con un 51% de apoyo entre los votantes probables, mientras un 41% respalda a Trump.

Clinton contó con el apoyo del 60% de las mujeres y Trump sólo el 36%. Trump lleva la ventaja con hombres, 48%-42%.
