Adopted by the Security Council at its 7815th meeting, on 10 December, 2016
The Security Council,
Emphasizing the need for just peace and determination to preserve sovereignty, political independence, unity and the territorial integrity of Ukraine,
Reaffirming all member countries, upon accepting the United Nations Charter, have taken the commitment to act in accordance with what is established in the charter,
- Insists on the compliance that the principles of the United Nations Charter require to establish peace and respect for the territorial integrity of all countries;
- Urges Ukraine to authorize the Crimean Peninsula for an implementation of a new referendum in an environment conductive to real peace and public security so that in that same manner to give legality to the decision of the citizens of Crimea,
- Decides to remain actively seized of the matter.
