Dear Mr. Kennedy,
Having worked as a maid for the past twenty years, I am confident that I have acquired sufficient experience and gained the necessary skills to serve you in the White House. During these twenty years as a maid, I served a number of high-ranking government officials, including Mayor Robert Wagner, Senator James Mead, and Governor Thomas Dewey.
Throughout my career, I faced and overcame a number of challenges, including disrespectful behavior from the children of the households, 12-hour shifts, and terrible messes in the aftermaths of huge house parties. As a result, I am ready to deal with whatever may arise at the White House, and will perform my duties gracefully and diligently.
Please consider me for this position, and I very much hope to hear back from you soon.
Truly yours,
Jane Smith
Oh poor Jane Smith. Let’s hope she doesn’t get the job; she doesn’t want to be working in the White House when Kennedy is assassinated. That’s too big a mess for anyone to have to clean up.
Yes, that is true. Fortunately, she did not get the job.
