Doctors offer practical tips to deal with extreme temperatures

Washington D.C., – Recently we’ve experienced record breaking cold weather in large parts of the United States and even though temperatures have increased in recent days, the winter season has just begun and we need to be prepared for the coming cold fronts.

In fact, doctors say that the freezing temperatures might present health risks.  “It is better to limit your activities in the open, since long exposure could end up in frostbite and hypothermia”, said Dr. John Marshall, president of medical emergencies in Maimonides Medical Center, New York.  “Both conditions can get serious, and even potentially lethal if not treated.
