Argentina Off To A Good Start
London- Argentina National Women’s field hockey team, Las Leonas, the reigning World Cup champions, today defeated their Chinese counterparts, Beijing 2008 Olympic Games silver medalists, 1-0 in their second friendly match in London before their debut at the Olympic Games against South Africa.
The only goal scored came from a chance converted by defender Noel Barrionuevo from a short corner in the 10th minute of the second half.
“We played well. I was satisfied with the team’s performance. China wanted to play behind closed doors, so we tried to do a simulation of what we are going to do on Sunday’s debut against South Africa,” expressed the teams’s trainer, Carlos Retegui, after the match.
