Doctors Offer Practical Advice for Dealing with Extreme Temperatures
Recently we have experienced freezing record temperature that affected a big part of United States, even though the temperature have increased in the last couple of days, winter has only begun and we need to be prepared for the next wave of extreme cold.
In fact, doctors say that freezing temperatures can represent health risks. “It’s best to limit outdoor activities given that a long exposure can cause frostbite and hypothermia,” said Dr. John Marshall, President of Emergency Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in New York. “Both conditions can be dangerous and fatal if not treated.”
