Argentina Wins the Game
LONDON – Argentina’s women national field hockey team, Las Leonas, the reigning World Cup champions , defeated today 0 to 1 their Chinese counter parts, Beijing 2008 Olympic Games’ silver medalists, in their second friendly match in London before their debut Sunday at the Olympic games against South Africa.
Noel Barrionuevo, defender, scored the only goal from a penalty corner 10 minutes into the second half.
“We played well, I’m satisfied with the team’s performance. China wanted to play closed doors, so we tried to simulate why’s going to happen Sunday in the debut with South Africa” the team’s coach Carlos Retegui said, after the match.
