Nation, Self & Asian Identity
Students in Professor Jennifer Hayashida’s Hunter College class, “Nation, Self & Asian Identity,” have organized an open mic to be held at the Asian American Writers’ Workshop on Friday, December 16, from 7-9pm.
The emphasis will be on the voices of Asian American/Pacific Islander students and other students of color – to respond to the election and also tell their stories of migration, racialization, displacement, discovering their voices, and finding community. But this is not limited to Hunter students; all students who wish to come together to learn from and be inspired by each other, and together imagine and work towards better political futures, are invited. There will be a Facebook page for the event quite soon.
