Dear Professor Suzuki,
I hope this email finds you well! My name is Lucy March and I am the Student Affairs Officer for the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University. I coordinate our Institute’s fellowships program under the guidance of our Fellowships Director, Professor Madeleine Zelin.
I write to you today because the Columbia University East Asia National Resource Center is making a number of Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship (FLAS) summer grants for the study of East Asian languages available to eligible CUNY students for the Summer 2020 period.

I hope that you would be able to make this information available to your students who may be interested in participating in an intensive summer program for the study of an East Asian language (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Tibetan). The deadline for applications is February 26th, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Applications must be submitted through Columbia’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
