Feb.16 8 p.m. – 9:30 p.m The Hougaku Quartet presented by The Japan Foundation

The Japan Foundation, New York is presenting a concert by The Hougaku Quartet, featuring four Japanese musicians playing traditional instruments, with our long-time partner Asia Society. The Quartet consists of three koto and one shakuhachi players and is dedicated to creating music for today and the future on these traditional instruments. The Quartet’s mission includes commissioning works in close collaboration with the performers, reviving traditional Japanese music masterpieces composed after the 1960, and performing in the “sankyoku” or classical chamber music style. Please join us for an innovative evening of Japanese traditional music. For more information, please visit http://asiasociety.org/new-york/events/hougaku-quartet.
