About the movie: The story unfolds in a small city in rural Aichi Prefecture near the ruins of Sanage Castle. The city residents wish to restore the castle to revitalize the local community, but the city administration wants to invite businesses for more tax income. In the midst of this conflict, there suddenly appear the spirits of three samurai who died 400 years ago with a leftover grudge against this world. These spirits command the people to restore the castle. However, they can only stay in this world for a few days, which is not enough time to restore the castle properly, so the spirits and residents decide to rebuild it with cardboard boxes. Rising kabuki star Ainosuke Ichikawa plays the lead role as the commanding samurai general. The Aichi Institute of Technology sponsored the production of this movie, and its students and many Sanage residents volunteered as participants.
